Digital Innovation Shaping e-Education

October 24, 2019
Sofia Hotel Balkan, 5 Sveta Nedelya square, Sofia, Bulgaria, Serdika hall, Sofia, Bulgaria

Organizer: ICT Media

Worldwide digital innovation and trends are increasingly contributing to the education sector. Digital transformation is generating solutions which are optimizing the process of learning and increase its efficiency. Furthermore, the so-called generation Z is beginning to require the implementation of new interactive digital processes, that would improve the presentation and perception of the educational material. Innovative means of access to learning resources, as well as the development of the supporting network infrastructure with a gradual coverage in each school, are included in the national program “Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Pre-school and School Education System” 2019.

At the end of February this year the Executive Agency “Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” initiated the procedure “Education for Tomorrow”. As a result,  the Ministry of Education and Science is planning to invest BNG 105 million based on “Operational Program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” (2014 – 2020). The main purpose is to implement digital technologies into educational institutions.  In June this year minister Valchev confirmed that BGN 20 million will be invested in technical equipment for schools' classrooms. He said that the Ministry of Education and Science will continue to invest in new technology, as well as in teachers' training in order to be able to present the learning material with the new approach. The main goal of the program “Innovations in Action” is to encourage proactive teachers to share and spread good innovative practices with other schools. Another step in this direction is the initiative “IT Business Teaches”. Its main goal is to support the collaboration process between the educational institutions and the IT companies. It will enable IT professionals to enter schools' classrooms and to share their practical experience, and information technology teachers, on the other hand, to be more up-to-date with the latest IT trends by getting to know real-life case studies.

The 15th Edition of the National Conference on e-Education “Digital Innovation shaping e-Education” will emphasize on many topics in the field of Bulgarian education digitization process such as -  how the European “Digital Innovation Action Plan” will reflect to the national e-Education, what we could expect from the national strategies in this regard, does the technical equipment meet the needs of the educational institutions, etc.

Target Audience: representatives of pre-school, school and higher education institutions; directors, deputy directors, rectors, deputy rectors, deans, deputy deans and other experts in secondary and tertiary education, representatives of state institutions operating in the field of education.
